Pot or bait? We measured separately what makes the difference when trapping blue crabs (Callinectes sapidus)
In Azmak Stream, Seferihisar, we paired two pot types with three baits and compared blue crab catch rates. Chicken-baited double-entrance pots did best, and bait choice mattered at least as much as the pot.

For Irene López-Mengual's master's thesis, we analysed the 2016-2022 records of recreational bluefin tuna tournaments in Izmir and how recreational catches could feed into stock assessment.

The 197 blue crabs we measured in Azmak Stream, Seferihisar, showed that males and females follow different carapace width–weight relationships, and that a single equation can bias biomass estimates.
